A Posy of Flowers
Last weekend my Hostess’s daughter (Hi Sharron) wanted to know how to put the Petal Cone Bigz L Die together to make a vase. She had seen the one I made previously in All White. Sharron is vision impaired and loves to make 3D projects.
I cut Elegant Eggplant card stock using the Petal Cone Bigz L Die to get 2 pieces of the cone shape. I also cut two shapes from Very Vanilla card stock. I assembled the Elegant Eggplant pieces to form the Petal Cone and cut down the Very Vanilla pieces to create the panels to add to the Petal Cone. I ran the Very Vanilla pieces through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. Once my box was assembled I cut a tiny portion from the top to enable me to add my flowers.
All the pieces for the flowers were cut using the Fun Flowers Bigz L Die. I used Perfect Plum cardstock and Very Vanilla. For the flower at below I just stacked the pieces together alternating colours with a Bitty Button in the centre. I threaded florest wire through the button and then through the centre of the flower shapes.
To make the white flower I again cut the pieces from Very Vanilla card using the Fun Flowers Bigz L Die and then I distressed each piece to separate each one into two pieces.
I then sponged Perfect Plum ink onto the edge of each piece, scrunched each piece into a tiny ball and then opened them out. I again used a Bitty Button in the centre with the florest wire threaded through and stacked all the flower pieces, making sure to stagger the petals. Once again I scrunched each piece up around the button and then opened the pieces out again.
I wanted to show that you could create flowers in two ways using the same die.
Although I have made the vase before, I got the inspiration for these flowers from a project that was shared at Inkspiration 4U online. This is a great site to join to get some amazing projects.
Sharron was delighted with the project and I think it turned out really pretty. The small decoration on the front of the vase is one large flower from the Boho Blossoms Punch and a couple of sets of leaves punched using the Bird Builder punch. This vase matches the Two Tags basket that I shared with you yesterday.
I’d love to hear what you think of this project.
Bye for now, Kris.
This is lovely Kris. I bet your vision impared friend really liked it. Lots of texture to feel 🙂
