Another Challenge Card

February 8, 2012

I made this card for the monthly challenge Creating Pretty Cards at Craft Project Central.  Its a great sketch and you can enter this challenge as many times as you like during the month.  You do not have to be a subscriber to enter this competition.

I used Whisper White card stock for my card base and added a layer of Concord Crush card stock which has been embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  I punched the long edge of a narrow strip of Peach Parfait card stock using the Scallop Trim Border Punch and attached it behind Pear Pizzazz card stock which has been embossed using the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder.  I did wrap the Pear Pizzazz card with Concord Crush 1/2″ Stitched Poly Ribbon and tied a knot before attaching the Peach Parfait card.

I stamped the image from the Upsy Daisy stamp set using Concord Crush ink onto Whisper White card stock and stamped again just to the right to give a shadow effect.  I punched the top right hand corner using the Scallop Trim Corner Punch.  I attached it to the card front making sure that the bottom of the Whisper White card stock was just covered by the ribbon.  I stamped “happy birthday” from the Easy Events stamp set onto Whisper White card using Peach Parfait ink and trimmed it to make a small banner, I sponged the edges using Peach Parfait ink and attached it to the card front.  I used a dimensional under the middle section to give it a little lift.  I cut Peach Parfait card stock using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit and attached one of the butterflies to the top left hand corner of the card.

I really love this card, what do you think?

Bye for now, Kris.

Beautiful card! I love how you made the shadow behind the flowers. Thanks for playing along with the Creating Pretty Cards Sketch Challenge at Craft Project Central! The orange butterfly is a nice embellishment and I love the embossing two different embossing folders you used for added texture.
