A Birthday Gift

October 19, 2012

My downline consists of two lovely ladies, who are wonderfully talented  and they both celebrated birthdays last week.  I am going to share the gift I made for Shirley with you today.  The other one will have to wait until I catch up with Jenny. (Happy Birthday Shirley and Jenny).

Shirley loves chocolate and I thought that I would create a gift for her re-using a coffee jar.  I wrapped the jar with some of the gorgeous Early Expresso 3 1/2″ Scalloped Tulle and tied a knot.  Then I used one of the Jumbo Sticky Rounds in the Holiday Mini and some Cherry Cobbler 3 1/2″ Scalloped Tulle and created a flower.  I used some Old Olive 1/2″ Seam Binding to create the “leaves” and attached it to the front of the bottle over the Early Expresso Tulle.

To make the card,  I embossed Very Vanilla card using the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, wrapped it with Early Expresso 3 1/2″ Scalloped Tulle and then attached it to scored and folded Cherry Cobbler card.    I stamped happy birthday from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stampset onto Whisper White card using Cherry Cobbler ink and cut it using the Framelits Bitty Banners.  The greeting is attached behind a flower created in the same manner as for the jar before attaching to the card front.

Very simple but I am really happy with the result.  What do you think.

Bye for now, Kris.
