Birthday Card

February 25, 2009

As this is my first post I thought I would show you a birthday card I made for my granddaughter who is turning 1 on the 6th March.

I followed a sketch posted by Mykeesha Byl and I am really happy with the way it turned out.  I also tried out the chunky sprinkles from page 15 in the new Summer Mini Catalogue.  I think they are fantastic.  Anyhow here is the card img071-watermarked-copy-compressed1.

I used Mellow Moss as my base cardstock and stamped in Mellow Moss with the spotted image.

I stamped the base of the cupcake and the candle image on whisper white using Purely Pomegranate ink and my trusty stamp-a-ma-jig.  The icing for the cake was stamped in Pretty in Pink on whisper white which I cut out and then I used my two-way glue pen to adhere the Crystal Iris Chunky Sprinkles.  I used stampin’ dimensionals to attach it.

The flowers along the bottom have also had some Chunky Sprinkles added with the two-way glue pen.

The image piece was then mounted on Mellow Moss and Purely Pomegranate and then a larger piece of Pretty In Pink.

I am pretty happy with the way it turned out, what do you think?
