New Catalogue Almost Here

March 28, 2009

It’s new catalogue time and I am so excited.  Its always sad to see old favourites go, especially the in-colours, but exciting looking forward to acquiring new favourites.

This year Stampin’ Up! gave its demonstrators the opportunity to pre-order a selected range of new products.  So I have been having fun trying out the new in-colours and a couple of stampsets which I am sure you will love as much as I do.  Did I mention the new in-colours – so yummy – especially Kiwi Kiss (you will probably get sick of seeing this colour).

echoes-of-kindness-incolour

I made this card using a new Level 2 Hostess Set called Echoes of Kindness – so pretty and fantastic for watercolouring (which I have to practice more).

The front of the card has been trimmed by 1.5cm and then scalloped with the scallop edge punch which is now in the new catalogue. I stamped the Riding Hood Red cardstock with En Francais using  Riding Hood Red ink stamping over the inside back as well.  Then I sponged the edges.  I punched a strip of Kiwi Kiss to match and taped it behind the scalloped edge of the Red Riding Hood cardstock.  The flower image is stamped onto watercolour paper and then coloured using blender pens and inks – Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss.  Once coloured I mounted onto Kiwi Kiss, wrapped with 5/8″ very vanilla grosgrain ribbon and mounted to the front.  My watercolouring leaves a lot to be desired but I love the effect of the card.

The base cardstock for this card is Kiwi Kiss and I have stamped it on the right hand side with the large square image from the set Fresh Cuts.  I sponged the edges of the card front with Kiwi Kiss ink as well.  I stamped the vine image in Riding Hood Red onto whisper white card and sponged the edges.  This piece was then mounted on Riding Hood Red card and 5/8″ very vanilla grosgrain was tied in a bow around the top and mounted to the left hand side of the card front.  I stamped “for you”  and the small flower onto whisper white card using Riding Hood Red.  I cut the flower out with my trusty paper snips and punched the “for you” out using the large oval punch and then sponged the edges.  I adhered the flower to the punched oval and then used dimensionals to attach to the right hand side of the card.  This card I love.

Just a reminder the  next workshop is on the 4th April at 2pm.  Please see Classes and Workshops for all the details.  Don’t forget places are limited and you need to contact me directly on k.mcintosh1@optusnet.com.au to reserve your place.
