Thoughts and Prayers

May 16, 2009

It is never an easy task to make a sympathy card, however, when I do I like to keep it simple and understated.  Thoughts and Prayers, a new stampset in the 2009/2010 Stampin’ Up! catalogue does help to make this type of card a little easier.  It has two truly beautiful images and a couple of lovely sentiments as well.

I coloured this branch image with my Almost Amythest and Always Artichoke makers and stamped onto Whisper White cardstock.  I then distressed the edges and mounted it onto a piece of Always Artichoke cardstock using dimensionals.  I have used the eyelet border punch on a piece of Always Artichoke and placed  it behind Almost Amethyst card.  I then tied a piece of white tafetta ribbon around both pieces of card and attached  this to the front of my Whisper White card.  The sentiment was inked with my Always Artichoke marker and stamped in the correct position using my Stamp-a-ma-jig.  The flower image was attached using dimensionals.

Beautiful card Kris. It is magical in its simplicity, but at the same time says so much.
