Another Challenge

February 5, 2010

I really am on a roll with these challenges.  I probably should be doing other things, such as housework, but I am having so much fun.

This week we have a challenge at ESAD to CASE a card on page 13 of the Summer Mini.  I actually made two examples.  Wonder if you can guess which card I am CASING?

This is the first card I made.  I used Close to Cocoa for my base card and used my Close to Cocoa ink pad directly onto the card.  I stamped 3 of the Elephants from Animal Stories (page 21 in your Summer Mini) using Close to Cocoa ink onto Whisper White card.  Then I punched the edge with the Scallop Edge Punch and wrapped it with a piece of Pretty in Pink 1/4″ grosgrain which I knotted on the left hand side.  I stamped “Welcome Baby” from Short and Sweet using Close to Cocoa ink and punched it out with the Word Window Punch.  I trimmed the right hand side straight, sponged the edges with Close to Cocoa ink and attached it to the card using dimensionals.  Very quick and easy but I am really happy with the way it turned out.

This is my second card and I really love the colour combo.  I used Certainly Celery as my base card and using Versamark ink I stamped one of the images from Pocket Silhouettes across the top of the card.  On my Whisper White card, I have stamped one image from Pocket Silhouettes using Certainly Celery ink and another image using Basic Black.  I attached this to a piece of Basic Black card which I had punched along one edge using the Scallop Edge Punch.  I wrapped it with Certainly Celery 1/4″ grosgrain, again with a knot on the left hand side.

I don’t CASE my Catalogues often enough but when I do I am always surprised at how well the cards turn out and usually how quick and easy they are.

Give it a try, I am sure you will be impressed with the results.

Bye for now, Kris.
