Animal Stories – Happy Birthday

February 18, 2010

This stampset Animal Stories is one of the ones that caught my eye in the new Summer Mini and I had to have it, however, I haven’t played with it as much as I should.  Today I played along with the Weekend Sketch Challenge on Gretchen Barron’s blog and decided to use Animal Stories with the matching Tall Tales Designer Series Paper (also in the Summer Mini).

I stamped the Giraffe and the Elephant onto Whisper White card using Chocolate Chip ink.  I filled the space above the elephant by stamping “happy birthday” from Happy Moments (Free Sale-A-Bration stampset) in Chocolate Chip Ink onto Whisper White card and punching out with the Small Oval Punch.  I layered it onto a Large Oval in Chocolate Chip and trimmed the right hand side to match the edge of the larger piece of Whisper White card.  The base card is Chocolate Chip and I added an Old Olive card layer.  I added  three narrow strips of Tall Tales DSP onto the Old Olive card and also a piece of Chocolate Chip card with one edge punched with the Scallop Edge Punch.  I wrapped the Old Olive card piece with 5/8″ Old Olive Grosgrain tied a knot and attached it to the Chocolate Chip folded card.  The image panel is attached using dimensionals.  I am happy with the way it turned out and I am sure my grandsons would love it as well.

Don’t forget that Sale-A-Bration and the Summer Mini both end on the 31st March, so contact me (k.mcintosh1@optusnet.com) if you would like to be eligible for FREE stamps.

Bye for now, Kris.

Hi Kris — I love what you did with the sketch this week. The greens and yellows are perfect together and the stamp set you choose works so well with it all. Fabulous job! Thanks for playing along with the Inspiration in Action Weekend sketch challenge! Blessings, Gretchen — http://www.gretchenbarron.typepad.com
