As Promised

January 29, 2011

Here is the little box I made to hold the set of cards I showed you yesterday.

I used Peach Parfait card to make my box.  The Whisper White card is again embossed using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  I stamped the flower image from Punch Bunch  onto Whisper White card using Peach Parfait ink and punched it out using the 1 3/4″ scallop circle.

The pictures for this box were taken when I made one for my granddaughter so the cardstock colour is not the same but hopefully you will understand what I am trying to do.  This piece of card is 15 x 15cm square.  I have scored 2cm in from the 2 opposite sides and 4cm on one of the other sides and then I have cut away the flap section at the bottom.

This shows where you should add sticky strip along both 2cm flap sections.

This drawing might help you understand.  Do not cut away the little triangle pieces in the corners, this is done after you have attached the front and the back together.

This piece forms the front and the sides.  It is 19cm x 15cm.  On the 19cm side your need to score at 4cm and 15cm.  On the 15cm side you need to score at 4cm.  Now you need to cut along the 4cm and 15cm score lines until you meet the 4cm score line.  These flaps will be the bottom of your box.

On the opposite side to the flaps we are going to cut at 3.5cm between the 4cm and 15cm score line and then cut on the diagonal from the 3.5cm point to the top of the edge of the card.  Removing this whole piece.

Hopefully this drawing will help you understand what I am saying.  Where the diagonal lines are is where we cut away in the last step.

In this photo you can see that I have attached the front and back pieces together along one side.  Now you can see where you need to trim the little triangle of card from the back piece.  Once you have attached both sides together, fold in the bottom and add some sticky strip to held it in place.

My instructions are probably not the clearest but hopefully you will understand how to go about making your own little box.

Bye for now, Kris.
