A Holiday Scrap Page
I thought I would try and complete a couple of challenges for Sudsol this week – what better way to showcase some of the photos from our week away than this week’s scrap sketch.

I started with a piece of Basic Black card 12″ x 12″. I used the “reed” image from Ocean Commotion and Whisper White craft ink to add some texture to the left hand side of the page. I wanted to add a little colour to the Whisper White ink, so I got out my Stampin’ Pastels and using a small paint brush added some Tempting Turquoise to the craft ink. I used my heat gun to dry the Whisper White ink. I used Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo and Regal Rose card as mounts for my photos and journalling. The sketch called for 3 embellishments down the left hand side so I decided to make these cute little fish from punches. The body uses an Ornament Punch, the fins and tail are made by cutting up a 5 petal punch, the lips are the smallest heart on the Heart to Heart punch. I sponged all the body pieces using matching ink – Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise and Regal Rose. After assembling the body pieces I ran the fish through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Embossing folder – I think it makes the fish look really cute and it “melts” all the pieces together. I used the Two Step Owl punch to create the eyes and the bubbles. I also stamped the fish from Ocean Commotion onto the Whisper White card at the bottom of my journalling using Melon Mambo ink. I created a mask from a post-it-note and then stamped the reed image over the top using Tempting Turquoise ink which I had stamped off once.
The best thing about completing these challenges is that I am getting a lot more scrapbooking done – four pages in the last couple of weeks. Who knows I may even get some pages scrapped from when my girls were little (mmm….maybe).
Bye for now, Kris.
