Happy Birthday Ethan

June 11, 2011

Tomorrow is Ethan’s 5th birthday and he is celebrating today with a party at the Bowling Alley with some of his friends.

I made this card following a tutorial that Madeline Morcelo shared at the Summer Edition of Inkspiration 4U.  As usual Madeline’s tutorials are so easy to follow.  I love how it stands up like a big tent.  I used Sahara Sand cardstock and added pieces of the Hostess Designer Series paper.  I cut the largest stars from Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz and Sahara Sand cardstock using the Star die from the Movers & Shapers Punch Windows.  I added stars punched from the designer paper using the Star Extra Large punch.  I stamped the image from the Bring on the Cake stampset using Concord Crush ink onto Whisper White card and punched it out with the Star Extra-Large punch.  I coloured in the 5 using my Concord Crush Stampin’ Write Marker to make it stand out and added a larger Concord Crush star.  I attached this star to the card front  using dimensionals.  To keep the card open correctly I punched 2 1″ circles from an old fridge magnet and attached them to the inside of the card.  I punched a small star (retired) from Concord Crush card and attached it to the lower left hand section of the card using a large Clear Rhinestone brad.

I attached designer series paper to the inside left of the card.  I stamped the image from Bring on the Cake using Poppy Parade ink onto Whisper White card and punched it out using the Decorative Label Punch.  I also punched a Decorative Label  from Poppy Parade and cut it in half and added it behind the image before using dimensionals to attach over the designer paper.  I cut a triangle to match from Whisper White card to  print  my message onto.  I punched 3 small stars (retired) from Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz and Poppy Parade cardstock.

I hope he likes his card.

Bye for now, Kris.
