A Tissue Box

June 23, 2011

I watched a video tutorial by  Dee which showed how to make a cover for travel sized tissue packs and thought it was a cute idea.

I followed Dee’s instructions and made my cover using Basic Black Cardstock and Newsprint Designer Series Paper.  I made my flower by cutting Real Red Cardstock using the Island Floral Die.  I cut one of the large flowers and one of the small flowers.  I also punched one flower from Real Red cardstock using my Fancy Flower Punch.  I cut the leaves using Old Olive cardstock and the Island Floral Die.  I used my bone folder to separate each of the flowers and leaves into two pieces.  I scrunched them and then adhered them onto a Vintage Brad making sure that all the layers were staggered.  I attached the flower to my cover using Mini Glue Dots.

After I made the cover I discovered that it was too large for the travel sized packs of tissues that I had, so I altered the dimensions and made a smaller one.

Again I used Basic Black cardstock and Newsprint Designer Series Paper, but this time I cut the flowers using the Birds and Blooms Sizzlit 4 pack.  I cut one each of the two largest flowers on the dies.  I also cut the large leaf from this die set using Old Olive card (3).  The flowers were separated and scrunched and again layered onto a Vintage brad (Did I tell you how much I love these brads?).

The leaves are attached to the flower and the flower to the cover using Mini Glue Dots.

These are so cute and small enough to adorn your desk at work.

Bye for now, Kris.
