Stencil Style
This month’s Impression magazine (a free magazine from Stampin’ Up! for Demonstrators) shared a technique called stencilling. I decided to give it a try and combine it with the “Use Your Punches” challenge at Late Night Stampers this week.

I scored and folded Confetti Cream cardstock to make the base card. I made a stencil by punching a window in a piece of cardstock that was the same size as my card front using the Curly Label punch. I used Dotto to attach the stencil to the front of my card and used a sponge and Night of Navy ink to fill the stencil. I punched two flowers from Daffodil Delight cardstock using the Fancy Flower Punch. I used my bone folder to separate each flower into two, scrunched them up into small balls and opened them out again. I threaded the buttonholes in a Night of Navy button with Linen Thread and then passed the thread through the centre of the flowers and tied a knot at the back to keep them altogether. I scrunched the flowers up around the button again to get the look I wanted. I punched Old Olive cardstock using the Five Petal Flower punch and cut away all but two of the petals. I partly separated the cardstock and scrunched the petals up a bit and then attached them to the card front using Mini Glue Dots and attached the flower over the top. I stamped “thinking of you” from the Three Little Words stampset using Night of Navy ink.
This is pretty much a CASE of the card in the Impressions magazine although I did change the orientation.
This is a simple technique with lots of WOW. Let me know what you think.
Bye for now, Kris.
