Inspired by Nature Take 2

August 5, 2011

I thought I would create another card for our first challenge at Sunny Challenges and Creations.  If you haven’t played along yet there is still time.  Vicky, Gwen and I would love to see your creations.

I wanted to add some more colour to this example so I took a piece of Pumpkin Pie card and added a strip of Early Expresso card to the right hand side and then layered it onto a piece of Old Olive card and then I ran the whole piece through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  This piece was attached to the folded and scored Early Epresso base card.  I stamped the reed image from Inspired by Nature onto Very Vanilla card using Early Expresso ink.  Then I inked the flower image using my Stampin’ Write Markers.  I used Old Olive for the leaves and inked the flowers with Daffodil Delight and then added some Pumpkin Pie and Early Expresso to add more dimension to the flowers.  I stamped the flowers onto Very Vanilla card and then cut them out.  I attached them over the reeds using snail and then added an Early Expresso mat.  I gathered a piece of Daffodil Delight 5/8″ Satin Ribbon and attached it over the bottom of the whole piece.  The image panel is added to the card front using dimensionals.

Here you can see the effect of the cut out images over the top of the stamped image.  I love the texture and dimension in this card.

So now it’s over to you, lets see your wonderful creations.

Bye for now, Kris.

Great card Kris. I love your flowers cut out, not to mention what you have done to your ribbon. The ribbon colour really suits your colours!

I LOVE this card, and especially the ribbon, I have an awful time gathering.
