A Case Challenge
Every week Sudsol posts a CASE (Copy and Share Everything) Challenge. They supply a photograph of a card and you can either CASE it exactly or you can change colours, stampsets etc.
I didn’t have the same stampsets and I did change the colours but the essence of the card is still the same. I scored and folded Old Olive card and then stamped the swirl image from the Baroque Motifs stampset onto the card front using Basic Gray ink. I punched a strip of Melon Mambo card using the soon to be released Lace Ribbon Border Punch (you are going to love this one). I attached it to the right hand side of the card front, trimming to match the card front. I attached a narrow strip of Basic Gray card to a slightly wider strip of Old Olive card and then attached it to the right hand side of the card front over the Lace Ribbon Border. I punched two Fancy Flowers from Melon Mambo card and also punched the Lace Ribbon Border Punch on a scrap of Whisper White card and trimmed it so that I had one doily shaped piece. I did use my bone folder on the Fancy Flowers to soften them a little and then attached the Fancy Flowers and the Whisper White doily together using a Vintage brad. I stamped “cherish” from the Baroque Motifs stampset onto the card front making sure that the flower wouldn’t hide it. I scrunched the petals of the Fancy Flowers a little and then added it to the card front using dimensionals.
I took my colours from the colour coach and I’m really not sure that I actually like the card. I think these colours would look better with a different mix and perhaps a little more Whisper White. There is a challenge to use these very colours at Holly Krautkremer’s Rubber Redneck blog this week, so I might have a play and see what I can come up with.
Bye for now, Kris.
