Technostamper Challenge 196

October 19, 2011

I love the sketch challenges at Technostamper and I had time to play along this week.

I punched a long strip of Cherry Cobbler card stock using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border and attached it behind the long edge of a piece of Early Expresso card stock.  I attached a piece of Cherry Cobbler striped designer paper from the Regals Patterns Designers Series Paper Stack to the Early Expresso card stock.  I wrapped this piece with Cherry Cobbler 1/2″ Seam Binding and then attached the whole piece to scored and folded Whisper White card stock.

I punched a 2 1/2″ circle from Whisper White card stock and embossed it with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  I stamped one stocking from the Stitched Stockings stampset onto Whisper White card stock using Cherry Cobbler ink and another one using Old Olive ink.  Both images were punched out using the Stocking Tag Punch.  I attached the two stockings to the 2 1/2″ circle of Whisper White card stock and used dimensionals to attach it to the card front.  I tied a bow from Cherry Cobbler 1/2″ Seam Binding and attached it above the stockings.  I added a small Basic Rhinestone to the Old Olive stocking.  I stamped “Merry Christmas” from the Season of Joy stampset onto the top right hand corner using Early Expresso ink (and my stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure it was straight).

I am actually in two minds as to whether or not I should have added the greeting.  It looked kind of bare without it and now it looks kind of busy.

What do you think?

Bye for now, Kris.

I think that this is the prettiest card! I love the colors and your design! The greeting looks perfect in its subtle splendor on the DP. All it needs is for Santa to fill those stockings 🙂

Oooh! I really like the placement of your bow…makes the stockings look like a really Christmas ornament.

Beautiful, I can not believe this is the first stamp I ordered from the mini preview and I have not used it yet. I think the sentiment looks good. The whole card is beautiful. Thanks so much for playing along with my sketch challenge this week!
