Sudsol Case Challenge
This week Sudsol (an online demonstrator group) had a challenge to CASE a card from the Stampin’ Up! demonstrator magazine. The card in question used Coastal Cabana as it’s main colour but as I didn’t have any Ruffled Ribbon in that colour, I decided to make mine using Strawberry Slush.
I stamped the dotted image from the Happy Watercolour stamp set randomly over Whisper White card, stamping several times before re-inking. I attached the Strawberry Slush Ruffled Ribbon to folded Burlap Ribbon and then attached the ribbons to the back of Baked Brown Sugar card which is embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. I used dimensionals to attach this to the stamped card to compensate for the bulk of the ribbon. I punched a 2-1/2″ Circle from Whisper White card and stamped the large background image using Strawberry Slush ink.
The original card used the “you make me happy” greeting from the Happy Watercolour stamp set, However, I changed the greeting to one from the Bring on the Cake stamp set which I stamped using Baked Brown Sugar ink. I attached the Whisper White circle to Strawberry Slush card cut using the 2nd smallest Deco Label Framelit Die. The image panel is attached to the card front also using dimensionals under the top half only. I tied Gold Baker’s Twine through a Vintage Faceted Button and attached it to the image panel using a Glue Dot.
Inside I stamped the dotted image, again using Baked Brown Sugar. I stamped the large background image using Strawberry Slush ink which I stamped off onto scrap paper once and then stamped the flower over the top using Stazon Jet Black ink. I attached Strawberry Slush Ruffled Ribbon to a narrow strip of embossed Baked Brown Sugar card which is attached to the bottom of the stamped card.
It is so much fun CASing a gorgeous card such as this and it’s a great way to get started if you are having any difficulty starting to get creative.
I’d love to hear what you think!
Bye for now,
