Happy Birthday Sarah

January 15, 2010

Today is my eldest daughter is celebrating a special birthday (shh don’t tell anyone she is turning 30).  I am quite amazed that I have a 30 year old daughter.  The years seem to have flown by since she was a baby.  Anyway I thought I would share her birthday card with you.  Now this card is made using a couple of things that are not current Australian SU product but are US SU product which I was lucky enough to receive from my sister.

The colours (Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie and Very Vanilla) were taken from the DSP I used which was Sweet Always.  I used a Texturz Plate called Perfect Details (which I hope is available here in April when the Big Shot is released by SU in Australia) on the Regal Rose card and then I used a sponge to add Regal Rose ink over the top to add extra dimension to the texture.   I added my DSP wrapped with Pumpkin Pie Ribbon.  Next I cut a Very Vanilla and Regal Rose circle using my Circle Scissors (love it).  I stamped the Very Vanilla circle with the “reed” image from Inspired by Nature.  The Chocolate Chip card was cut using my Circles, Scallop #2 die (also hoping this makes it to Aus in April).  Once these were layered together I stamped a butterfly from Butterfly Prints onto Very Vanilla card using Pumpkin Pie ink and punched it out with the Butterfly Punch.  This was attached to the Very Vanilla circle using a Mini Glue Dot and dimensionals (under the outer wing).  I also punched a butterfly from our Vellum cardstock and attached it over the top and added  a half pearl from the Pretties Kit.  Lastly I stamped “wish big” from the Short and Sweet Stampset on Very Vanilla card using Chocolate Chip ink and punched it out using the Large Oval.  Added this to a Scallop Oval punched out in Chocolate Chip.

I made a matching box using the same colours to hold her gift.  I will pop in tomorrow with more details on how I made the box and to show you what’s inside.

I hope you will forgive me for sharing with you these great products which are not yet available.  I am wishing so hard that they will be available to us here in Australia when the new Mini comes out in April.  Now I must rush because my two daughters and the five grandchildren are coming for lunch to celebrate with Sarah.

Bye for now,  Kris
