Happy Birthday Sarah

January 15, 2011

My daughter Sarah is celebrating her birthday today. I’m not going to tell you how old she is but suffice to say I wonder where the years have gone.  Seems like only yesterday she was a little girl and now she is a Mum with 3 gorgeous children of her own.

This is the card I made for her.  I started with Chocolate Chip card 21cm x 14.8cm scored and folded in half.  I added a layer of Whisper White which has been embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  Next is a circle of Chocolate Chip topped with a circle of Pretty in Pink.  Both these layers are cut with my Circle Scissors and the Pretty in Pink layer is embossed using the Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder.  I inked the flowers from the Upsy Daisy stampset  using my Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery  Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped onto Whisper White Card.  I added a layer of Certainly Celery and attached the whole panel to the card using dimensionals.  The greeting is also from the Upsy Daisy  stampset and I have stamped it onto Whisper White card using Chocolate Chip ink,  punched it out using the Large Oval punch and attached to a Chocolate Chip Scallop Oval.  This is also attached to the card using dimensionals.

Here you can see a close up of the texture from the embossing folders.  You can also see that the greeting is attached flat to the daisy panel with a dimensional  under the right hand side.

I am pretty happy with the way this card has turned out and hope that Sarah will like it.  There is a lot of pressure when you are making a card  for such a talented papercrafter.

Bye for now, Kris.

Kris, I would say you knocked it out of the park, and the ball is in your daughter’s court to top this beautiful card. Game on…haha!
