A Fun & Fast Birthday

February 6, 2011

I decided to use the sketch challenge this week from Sudsol to make a birthday card.

I seem to have a liking for square cards at the moment, so this one is again 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″.  I started with Ridinghood Red and stamped the corner image from Scribble This using Ridinghood Red ink in the top right hand corner.  Then I swiped the Ridinghood Red inkpad directly onto the edges of the card.  The greeting form Occasional Greetings  at the bottom right is stamped in Ridinghood Red ink onto Whisper White card.  The greeting is mounted onto Daffodil Delight card.  The Tempting Turquoise button is from the Brights Designer Buttons  and I have threaded a tiny sliver of Ridinghood Red card through the button and carefully tied it in a knot.  I added the button to the card using a mini glue dot.  The cake from Fun and Fast Notes has been stamped using Basic Black ink onto Whisper White card.  I used my Ridinghood Red, Tempting Turquoise and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Markers to colour the image.  The image panel is matted onto Ridinghood Red card.  It is attached to the Whisper White panel using dimensionals.  The Whisper White panel has been embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder (you may not believe it but I do have other embossing folders)  and added to a layer of Tempting Turquoise card.

A simple and fun card.  I think one of my grandchildren or grandnephews or neices would love this card.

I’d love to hear what you think.

Bye for now, Kris.

I love this Kris, the scribble this stamp in the corner looks excellent, and your colour scheme really pops..
