Happy Anniversary Emma & Jason

March 11, 2011

Today is my daughter Emma’s 6th Wedding Anniversary.  I made her card using the same Clean & Simple sketch I used yesterday.  I must admit I like this card more than the one I made yesterday.

The base card is Basic Black.  I have added a layer of Whisper White card and on top of that is another layer of Whisper White card which has been embossed with the Petals-A-Plenty embossing folder.  I wrapped 5/8″ Satin Ribbon to cover the join of the two Whisper White Layers.  I stamped “congratulations” from the Perfect Punches stampset using Basic Black ink onto Whisper White card and punched it out using the Modern Label punch.  To make the mat for the greeting I folded a piece of Basic Black card in half and inserted it into the Curly Label punch, making sure not to punch the fold.  It was a bit hard to punch but I love the way it turned out.  I attached the Basic Black mat underneath the Basic Black Ribbon.  I punched 3 sets of Old Olive  leaves from the Two-Step Bird punch.  I attached these to the card front and then made a flower using 3 Real Red Scallop circles.  I used my bone folder to curl the edges on both sides until the paper separated and I got 6 scallop circles altogether.

I scrunched each of the scallops into tiny balls and carefully opened them up.  I stacked them and used my paper piercer to make a hole to insert a brad.  It doesn’t matter what brad you use because you don’t see it.  Once they are all stacked onto the brad, I start scrunching the first layer over the brad as tightly as I can, then each of the layers until they are all done.  Then I carefully fan the layers until I get the flower looking the way I want.  I attached this to the card front using Mini Glue Dots.

Now this card I love, probably something to do with the colours.  I’d love to hear what you think.  Which do you like the most, this one or the one I made yesterday?

Bye for now, Kris.

Kris, you know these are my favourite colours to work with too, and you have created yet another stunning creastion. I also liked the card from yesterday, but this one tops them all.

I love this layout and both of your cards.
Congratulations to your daughter and son-in-law!
The flower on their card is SO gorgeous!
But I’m really loving the color combo on the previous card.
So it’s a tie. They are both beautiful.
