Happy Birthday Emma

June 17, 2011

Today is my youngest daughters birthday and I thought I would share the card I made for her with you.

This is the front of the card.  I have used a circle of Basic Black cardstock and added a circle of Whisper White card which I sponged using Real Red ink.  I stamped the heart  and flower images from the Punch Potpourri stampset onto Whisper White card using Real Red ink and punched them out using the Heart Extra Large Punch and the  Boho Blossoms Punch.   I sponged the edges of all of the pieces before attaching them to the Whisper White Circle.  I used my paper piercing mat and paper piercing tool to round the centres of the flower and give them a slight “cup” shape.  Lastly I  added Basic Rhinestones to the centres of the flowers for a little bling.

This is the inside of the card.  I cut Basic Black card using the Scallop Circle Die to form the base of the card.  The Whisper White circle again has the edges sponged with Real Red ink.  I stamped the heart, flowers and bird onto Whisper White card using Real Red ink and then sponged the edges of all the pieces using Real Red ink.  They were all punched using the Boho Blossoms punch, Heart Extra Large  and Two Step Bird Punch.  I also punched a wing from Real Red cardstock using the Two Step Bird punch and sponged the edges with Real Red ink.   As this is the inside of the card I added all of the pieces flat to the Whisper White circle.

Here is the card fully open – its called a Telescoping Circle card – for obvious reasons.  I watched this video by Barb Mullikin which explained how to assemble all the pieces.  I used Medium Clear Rhinestones to attach all of my pieces together and a piece of Real Red 5/8″ grosgrain ribbon to  use to open the card.

These are really fun cards to make and the video explains really clearly how to assemble all of the pieces and also gives circle sizes.

I hope that Emma has a fantastic day.

Bye for now, Kris.
