A Halloween Treat
The challenge this week at Late Night Stampers is to create a Halloween Treat Holder. This is not a traditional Australian Holiday and I don’t usually do anything to celebrate, however, there are more and more children who love the excuse of collecting extra sweets. So I thought I would try and come up with something for this challenge.
I love the new Petite Pocket XL Die in the catalogue and this gave me an excuse to play with it. I don’t have any Halloween stampsets so I made a little punch bat/owl. I cut my Petite Pocket from Always Artichoke cardstock and assembled the pouch. It really is cute and it can be closed but I have left mine open. I used my Owl Builder Punch and created the basic owl and then I punched two 1 3/8″ circles from black cardstock and then punched them with the 1 3/4″ scallop circle to make the little bat wings. I had to attach him on an angle to fit him on the front of the pouch. I printed Happy Halloween onto Whisper White card stock using the computer and then punched it out using the Word Window Punch. I attached it to a Basic Black Modern Label and attached it to the bottom of the pouch.
I don’t think he is very scary, more like an owl dressed up for Halloween, but cute all the same. Of course it needs a little treat to go inside – not sure what yet. I’d love to hear what you think.
Bye for now, Kris.
