Elementary Elegance

March 6, 2012

I used the sketch at Stamping 411 to make this card.  I cannot get enough of the Sale-A-Bration products this year and just had to use them on this card.

I scored and folded Poppy Parade card stock and added a layer of Whisper White.  I sponged the edges of the designer paper from the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series paper using Poppy Parade ink, attached it to Poppy Parade card stock and attached it to the card front tilting it to the right.  I attached another piece of the designer paper to Pool Party card stock which has one edge punched using the Eyelet Edge Border Punch.  This is attached to the card front over the Poppy Parade Designer Series Paper panel.  I stamped the “frame” image from the Elementary Elegance Stamp Set  onto Whisper White card stock using Poppy Parade ink.  I sponged the edges with the same ink, attached it to Poppy Parade card stock and then to the card front, tilting it to the left.  I stamped “happy birthday” from the Elementary Elegance stamp set onto scrap Whisper White card stock using Poppy Parade ink and punched it out using the Curly Label PunchI attached this into the frame using dimensionals.   I stamped the butterfly image from the Elementary Elegance Stamp Set onto Whisper White card stock using Poppy Parade ink.  I sponged the edges using Pool Party ink, attached it to a Pool Party 1-1/4″ circle and then to a Poppy Parade 1-3/4″ Scallop circle.  I used dimensionals under the right hand side to attach it to the card front.  I tied a bow in Poppy Parade 1/2″ Stitched-Poly Ribbon and attached it to the card front using Mini Glue Dots.

It kind of looks a bit busy.  What do you think, too much or just right?

Bye for now, Kris.

I think it’s fabulous! I would have been reluctant to pair up these colors, and you’ve inspired me to go try it. Thanks for being you and for playing along this week. 🙂
