A Sudsol Challenge

June 16, 2012

Well, you may have noticed that I haven’t been posting as much as usual lately and that’s because I have been away caravanning with my husband.  We only got home on Wednesday and today is the first chance I have had to post something for you.

The challenge was to CASE a card from the US Stampin’ Success magazine (a magazine published by Stampin’ Up! for US demonstrators).  It seemed simple enough and gave me a chance to try out my FREE stamp set Reason to Smile.  (Take a look at this post if you don’t remember how to get this FREE.)

I wrapped 3 pieces Pumpkin Pie 1/8″ Tafetta Ribbon around Old Olive card stock and attached it to scored and folded Whisper White card stock.   I embossed Daffodil Delight card stock using the Big Shot and the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and attached it to the card front over the Old Olive card stock.  Then I stamped the smallest flower from the Reason to Smile stampset onto Whisper White card stock using each of the following inks; Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and Pacific Point.  The base flower for each one was stamped off onto scrap paper first and then the detail image was stamped with the first impression.  Don’t you love the way two-step stamps make your images look so real.  Each image was punched out using the Postage Stamp PunchI also stamped the greeting from the Bring on the Cake stamp set onto Whisper White card stock using Old Olive ink.  The greeting is punched out using the same punch.  I attached each of the “postage stamps” to the card front using dimensionals.  Lastly I added a medium Basic Rhinestone to the centre of each flower.

I think it has turned out really cute.  What do you think?

Bye for now, Kris.
