Happy Birthday Emma

June 18, 2012

I made this card for my daughter Emma who celebrated her birthday at the weekend.  I used the sketch at Sudsol this week and the Reason to Smile stamp set which is only available this month.

I started with a base card of Basic Black to which I added a layer of Whisper White which I embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  I attached a piece of Mocha Morning Specialty Designer Paper to Whisper White card stock, wrapped the join with Whisper White 5/8″ Organza Ribbon and tied a knot.  I stamped “celebrate” from the Fabulous Phrases Stampset  using Basic Black ink.  I attached this to the card front using dimensionals.  I inked the solid flower from the Reason to Smile stampset using Real Red and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped  once onto scrap paper and then onto scrap Whisper White card stock.  The “detail” image was inked with the same markers and stamped over the top.  I cut the flower out and attached it behind the ribbon.

This is one of my favourite colour combinations – you simply cannot go wrong with it.  I am happy to say that Emma loved it too.

What do you think?  I love reading your comments and appreciate those that take the time to make one.

Bye for now, Kris.

The difference in proportion between your Designer Paper and stamped images is surprising and fun. I hope your daughter’s birthday was happy; mine turns 25 tomorrow.
