Sunny Challenge 56

September 2, 2012

Well before I show you my sample for the challenge this week, I want to wish my Dad and all Dad’s a Happy Father’s Day.  My Dad is going to come over for lunch and to spend some time with me, my daughters and their families.  It will be the first celebration we have shared since my parents moved to Beachmere, so I am a little excited.  I hope you all have a lovely day spending time with your families and your Dad’s.

The product I am using today is all new – the 2012-2014 in-colours and a brand new stamp set called Betsy’s Blossoms. As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator I was able to pre-order these and have had a lot of fun playing with them.  You can click on the link on my side-bar to view the two new catalogues.

Now on to the challenge.

This week the challenge was set by Gwen.  She gave us a simple sketch and the proviso that we had to make a 10cm x 10cm card (4″ x 4″).  I embossed Whisper White card using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder, wrapped it with Gumball Green 1/2″ stitched Satin ribbon, tied a knot and then attached it to a Midnight Muse card base.  I stamped the bird from the Betsy’s Blossoms stampset using Midnight Muse ink and punched it using the 1-3/4″ circle punch.  I attached it to a mat of Summer Starfruit card cut using one of the circles on the Circles #2 die.  I stamped the large flower using Raspberry Ripple ink onto Whisper White card and cut it out.  I stamped the small group of flowers using Primrose Petals ink onto Whisper White card and cut them out.  I stamped the leaves using Gumball Green ink onto Whisper White card and cut them out.  I arranged the pieces onto the card front, slipping the leaves underneath the bird panel and arranging the flowers over the top.  I have to say I am really loving the new Firm Foam ink pads.  They give such a great coverage of ink but you do need to develop a much lighter inking style!

Now it is time to visit Vicky, Gwen and Christine to see what inspiration they have in store for you.  Once you have created your card (I think it can probably only be a card), pop over the Sunny Challenges and Creations and add it to Mr. Linky.  I am really looking forward to seeing your creations this week.

Bye for now, Kris.

Lovely card Kris & all with new “stuff:……. I am slowly turning to this stamp set, as you seem to use it so well. Love the flowers around the bottom of the circles with the little bird popping up out of them.

Gorgeous use of new goodies, Kris. I love the way you’ve used colour on this sweet little card, and your fussy-cutting is impressive!
