Sunny Challenge 61

September 30, 2012

The Sunny Challenge this week has been set by me.   I provided a sketch and the proviso to use something from the new catalogue.  Very easy.

I embossed Very Vanilla card using the Stripes Embossing Folder and attached it to scored and folded Cherry Cobbler card.  I attached two pieces of designer series paper from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack (new in the holiday mini), which are actually the two sides of one piece of designer paper.  I inked the image from the Embellished Events stamp set (new in the annual Catalogue) using Lucky Limeade ink and then used my blender pen to remove the colour from the flowers (a technique I learned on the net somewhere – if it’s your’s please let me know and I will give you credit).  Once the Lucky Limeade colour was removed, I used my blender pen and Cherry Cobbler ink to colour the flowers.  I found this gave me a better depth of colour than if I used my Stampin’ Write Markers.  The image is stamped onto Very Vanilla card and punched using the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch.  I cut Lucky Limeade card using the 3″ Circle Originals Die I attached the punched image and then used the circles on the Esssentials Paper-Piercing Pack (new in the annual Catalogue) to create the pierced circle around the image.  The image panel is attached to the card front using dimensionals.  Just for fun (and because I had a smudge of ink) I created a bow using the Cherry Cobbler 1/2″ Seam Binding and attached it using Mini Glue Dots.  I think I have used enough new product!

Now for some more inspiration pop over and visit Gwen, Vicky and Christine, once you have created your card, scrap page or 3d item visit Sunny Challenges and Creations and add them to Mr. Linky.  Can’t wait to see what you all create.

Bye for now, Kris.

This is a wonderful card Kris. I did note the eveness (I think that’s the right word) of the 2 tned stamp. I have put the blender pen tip in a neurone. Looks like it works a treat. I think Cobbler has to be close to my fave colour….good all year round and esp at Christmas.

Beautiful as always Kris, the colours are superb and love the way you have done the piercing around the circle too.

Wow, Kris, this is gorgeous! Such a crisp, fresh look with those beautiful colours and white space. You’ve made me look again at Embellished Events; those flowers are lovely! Great tip about using a blender pen with ink, on the rubber – I haven’t heard of that. Love your card.

WOW Kris, I love this card. It is just perfect and I did not realize you could use the blender pen to apply the ink, but why not. Great idea and I am going to try that. Thanks for the tips.
