Another Birthday Gift

October 27, 2012

I told you I would share the gift I made for my other downline Jenny after I had given it to her.  I was able to catch up and have lunch last week, which was soooo nice, as we don’t get together often.

I found a stall at our local Sunday market (Caboolture) where they sell soap made into many different shapes, including some that look like cupcakes.   I thought this would be perfect for Jenny.  I had been given a cupcake in a holder at an event I attended recently and I kept the holder (as you do) and pulled it apart to create a template for myself.

I used Early Expresso card to cut the base and added layers of Cajun Craze card and Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper.  I tied it up with a length of Early Expresso 1/8″ Tafetta Ribbon.  I think it is really cute and I am sure that I will use this template again.

I also decided to make her a tea bag dispenser, as I know Jenny likes her tea.  I used a tutorial that I found through Pinterest (I know I shouldn’t go there so much but look at the wonderful things you find) by Kerry Bunting.  I did change the opening for the tea bags slightly.    I made mine using Cajun Craze and Early Expresso card and Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper.  I used the Tea Shoppe stamp set to create the “tea for two” to go on the front.   The beautiful Victoria Crochet Trim is the perfect finishing touch.

As I was going to be meeting Jenny out, I needed something nice to hold the gift.  I am a bit of a hoarder when it comes to gift bags and found one that was a perfect colour match.  I decorated the front and the back using Cajun Craze card and Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper.

I created a small gift card to match using Whisper White, Early Expresso and Cajun Craze as well as the Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper.  The main image is from the Serene Silhouettes stamp set which I coloured using Stampin’ Write Markers – Midnight Muse, Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake.

I was pleased with this gift and hope that Jenny was too.  Of course it didn’t look so pretty when I presented it to her, as I was worried that the soap scent would go through the tea, so I put them in a plastic snaplock snack bag!

Bye for now, Kris.
