I was looking for inspiration for some of my new stamp sets and found the sketch challenge at Sketch Frenzy Friday and thought it would work well with Kinda Eclectic. We were given this stamp set at Convention to complete our Make and Takes. It has some beautiful images and is really fun to use.
I stamped the sunburst image from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set onto Very Vanilla card using Smoky Slate and then stamped the dotted image from the same stamp set across the lower portion of the image using Elegant Eggplant ink. I stamped the leaf image onto Very Vanilla card twice without re-inking using Summer Starfruit ink. I attached the small stamped piece to the card front using temporary adhesive and stamped the leaf image several times without re-inking each time so that the leaves spilled onto the card front. I removed the small stamped piece, attached it to Smoky Slate card and then to the card front using dimensionals. I stamped the flower from the Flower Shop stamp set onto Very Vanilla card using Elegant Eggplant ink and punched it out using the Pansy Punch. I stamped the small flower from the Petite Petals stamp set onto Very Vanilla card using Summer Starfruit ink and punched it out using the Petite Petal Punch. I gave the flowers some dimension, attached them together using a Glue Dot and then attached them to the small panel again using Glue Dots. I added a Basic Pearl to the flower centre.
To decorate the inside of the card I stamped the leaf image using Summer Starfruit several times without re-inking across the bottom of Very Vanilla card. I stamped the dotted image across the bottom of the leaves using Elegant Eggplant ink and then wrapped the lowest edge of the Very Vanilla card using Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon before attaching it to the inside of the card.
Unfortunately some of the colours and product on this card are retiring, so you only have until the end of June to get your hands on Summer Starfruit ink or the beautiful Summer Starfruit 5/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon. While it is sad to see these in-colours retire, the colours replacing them are just lovely. The Kinda Eclectic stamp set of course won’t be available until the release of the new catalogue on the 1st July. So this card features something old and something new.
I’d really love it if you left me a comment and let me know what you think.
Bye for now,
