Happy Birthday Elyssa

March 7, 2019

My granddaughter Elyssa recently celebrated her 11th birthday, so I thought I would share the card I made for her.  I found a tutorial for a Bridge Fold card on Pinterest by Song of My Heart. It’s a simple fold to create a card that stands by itself but folds flat to go into the envelope.   I knew what I wanted to use to decorate this card, so I changed the measurements slightly and therefore had to make a custom envelope.  I created my card base from Thick Whisper White card  and attached narrow pieces of Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper onto the side sections of the card and also on the bridge that holds the card together.  I stamped the greeting from the Perennial Birthday stamp set onto Whisper White card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The stamped panel is attached to Basic Black card before attaching to the centre panel.  I cut Lovely Lipstick Foil (one of the products FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-a-Bration) using the more solid of the butterfly dies from the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies. I cut Basic Black card using the more filigree butterfly die from the same dies.  I attached the Basic Black die cut to the top of the Lovely Lipstick Foil dies.  Once they were attached, I trimmed off the smaller butterfly on the top right hand side of the dies.  The four butterflies are attached to the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue where they sit over the card.  The small butterfly I cut off I added to the bridge panel using the same glue.

I created my envelope from 12″ x 12″ Whisper White card using the Envelope Punch Board. I cut the letters from Basic Black card using the retired Little Letters Thinlits Dies and attached them to Whisper White card cut using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies.  I attached the Whisper White rectangle to a Basic Black rectangle cut using the same dies and then the front of the envelope.  I cut two more butterflies from Basic Black card and Lovely Lipstick Foil using the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies.  I cut the butterflies apart and attached the Basic Black dies to the Lovely Lipstick Foil dies and then the front of the envelope using Mini Dimensionals.

To finish off the card I attached another panel of Whisper White card attached to Basic Black card to the centre of the back of the card so that I could write my message.  If you haven’t created one of these cards, then please have a look at Song of My Heart blog to get the directions.

Bye for now,

Kris
