Classic Christmas

As we head towards the end of another Mini Catalogue, I am once more looking for ways to use all the beautiful Designer Series Paper I have bought and loved and admired but not used. So today is the first of three cards, I have created using some of Dawn Griffin’s sketches from her Sketch Gallery. I decided to work on using up the remainder of my Classic Christmas 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Dawn’s sketch sizes are all in inches and worked out for a standard American card front, so I had to do a little fiddling with the pieces. So for the first card, I cut three pieces of the Classic Christmas 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper into 9.5cm x 2.5cm pieces. I also cut one piece 9.5cm x 5.7cm.

The Designer Series Paper is attached to Whisper White card and then scored and folded Sahara Sand card. I stamped the large single tree from the In The Pines stamp set onto Whisper White card using Shaded Spruce ink. I stamped the fill image also using Shaded Spruce ink which I stamped onto scrap paper first. I cut out the image using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I used one size larger die to cut Sahara Sand card and attached the image panel. The whole piece is attached to the card front using dimensionals.

I stamped “Merry Christmas” from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set onto Whisper White card using Cherry Cobbler ink and cut it out. The greeting is attached across the bottom of the stamped tree image. To decorate the inside of the card, I stamped the greeting from the Wishes & Wonder stamp set onto Whisper White card using Cherry Cobbler ink. I also stamped the row of trees from the In The Pines stamp set onto the bottom left hand corner using Shaded Spruce ink. Once more I added the fill image using the same ink which I stamped onto scrap paper first.
I love this card and will be using this layout quite a bit! Did you know that the In The Pines stamp set and co-ordinating dies are retiring when this Mini Catalogue finishes and the dies are discounted in the Mega Sale which started on the 8th December. So what a great time to pick up this stamp set and the co-ordinating dies. I have a couple more cards to show you over the next week or so, all using the Classis Christmas 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper.
Bye for now,
Kris
