Ocean Birthday

April 13, 2023

My son-in-law celebrated his birthday recently and I thought that I would share the card I made for him. I wanted it to be special so I created a Vertical Panel Fancy Fold. I cut the card base from Basic White card and attached a strip of Bermuda Bay card which I embossed using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder to each side. I cut the folding panel from Basic White card and added pieces of By The Bay 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper to some of the panels. I also stamped a greeting from the On The Ocean stamp set onto the inside of the folding panel using Night of Navy ink.

I attached a piece of Smoky Slate card to a Basic White panel and attached it to the folding panel. I stamped the cloud image from the On The Ocean stamp set onto Basic White card using Versamark ink. I sprinkled the image with White Embossing Powder and heat set it. I used a Blending Brush to add Bermuda Bay ink to the top half of the stamped Basic White card. I die cut Bermuda Bay card twice using the wave die from the On The Ocean Dies and embossed the panels using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.

I attached one panel to the bottom of the stamped Basic White card. I die cut the boat and the sail with mast image from Soft Suede card using the On The Ocean Dies. I also cut Smoky Slate card using the sail die from the On The Ocean Dies. I attached the Smoky Slate sails to the Soft Suede image and attached it to the card front. I attached the boat image below the sail image before attaching the second Bermuda Bay die cut. I stamped “happy birthday” from the On The Ocean stamp set onto Basic White card using Night of Navy ink. The greeting is punched using the Double Oval Punch and attached to the card front using dimensionals. I think this card turned out great, especially for a guy, don’t you?

Bye for now,

Kris
