Hobart D39

May 6, 2023

Today I have a page showing off a photo of my Dad on the Hobart on his way to Vietnam. My sister found this article on the Royal Australian Navy Facebook Page and it reminded me that I had this photo in my stash. My Dad is the fellow standing on the left. I printed the photo once full size and once a bit closer so you could see the faces of my Dad and the rest of the crew from his Gun Mount. I stamped the wave image from the Waves of Inspiration stamp set across the bottom of a Basic White 12″ x 12″ page firstly using Pool Party ink and then using Night of Navy ink which I stamped onto scrap paper first.

I attached a piece of Pool Party card across the top of the stamped images. I cut a “V” in both ends of a piece of Night of Navy card and embossed it using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. The embossed banner is attached down the left hand side of the page. I took inspiration for my journaling from the article on the Facebook page and printed it onto Basic White card. I attached the photos and the journaling directly onto the page. I cut the title from Basic White card using the Alphabet A La Mode Dies and attached it to the upper left hand side of the page. I found a photo of the Hobart online and printed it onto Basic White card. I trimmed around the ship and attached it to the right hand corner of the page. When I look at this photo I have mixed emotions. I am glad that he came home safe and sound but sad that he had to go to war in the first place.

Bye for now

Celebrate the new In-Colours

May 4, 2023

Today I have some cards to share that I created to show off all the 2023-2025 In-Colours. I used the Circle Sayings stamp set which I used to create some cards yesterday on my Facebook Live. For this first card I cut a piece of the Copper Clay card and embossed the panel using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. I attached a piece of the co-ordinating 2023-2025 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper across the bottom of the embossed card.

The panel is attached to Basic White card before attaching a narrow strip of Copper Clay card across the top of the Designer Series paper using dimensionals. The Basic White card is attached to a scored and folded Copper Clay card.

I stamped the greeting from the Circle Sayings stamp set onto Basic White card using Copper Clay ink. I stamped the cupcake image inside the greeting using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The cupcake image is coloured using both the light and dark Copper Clay Stampin’ Blends before punching out using the 2-3/8″ Circle Punch. The image panel is attached to the card front using dimensionals where necessary. To decorate the inside of the card, I stamped “happy birthday” from the Circle Sayings stamp set onto Basic White card using Copper Clay ink. I attached a narrow strip of In-Colour Designer Series Paper across the bottom of the stamped Basic White card. I love how this card shows off each of the new In-Colours, don’t you. So each card uses a different embossing folder and of course uses one of the other new in-colours. In this photo you can see Copper Clay, Wild Wheat, Boho Blue, Moody Mauve and Pebbled Path. Each card uses co-ordinating colours in ink, card and designer series paper.

My favourite is a toss up between Boho Blue and Pebbled Path. What about you? Which is your favourite new In-Colour?

Bye for now,

Kris

Another Round

May 2, 2023

I found this card on Pinterest and thought that I would CASE it. I cut a circle from Cajun Craze card using the second largest circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I attached the circle to Basic White card which I embossed using the polka dot folder from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders. I stamped the greeting from the Brewed For You stamp set onto Basic White card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and attached it across the embossed panel using dimensionals. I stamped the beer glass from the Brewed For You stamp set onto Basic White card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped the fill image from the same stamp set using Crushed Curry ink.

I also stamped the froth image from the Brewed For You stamp set onto Basic White card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I cut out the glass and the froth images using the co-ordinating Brewed Dies.

I attached the froth image to the glass image and then the card front using dimensionals where necessary. To decorate the inside of the card, I stamped another greeting from the Brewed For You stamp set onto Basic White card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I embossed a narrow panel of Basic White card using the same Basics 3D Embossing Folder and attached a narrow strip of Cajun Craze card behind one long edge. The embossed panel is attached across the bottom of the stamped Basic White card. I loved this card but I decided to create another in exactly the same manner but this time using the wine glass image from the Brewed For You stamp set. The glass is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and fill in Real Red ink. Once I had created these cards, I decided to change it up a bit. This time instead of attaching the Cajun Craze circle to the Basic White card, I used a Blending Brush to add Cajun Craze ink to the Basic White card.

I think they all look great, don’t you? Thanks to Crafting Daily Dose for the inspiration. I love that the products in these cards have all carried over to the new Annual Catalogue which goes live for customers today. I am so excited by the new colour refresh and all the new product and I bet you will be too. If you live in Australia and don’t have a demonstrator already, please contact me so that we can organise for you to receive a catalogue.

Bye for now,

Kris

George and Vera

April 29, 2023

Today’s page contains a Wedding Photo taken at my Grandparents Wedding back in 1930. I attached different patterns from the Abigail Rose 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper to a Very Vanilla 12″ x 12″ page before attaching my photo. Unfortunately this paper is retiring at the end of April and my well be already sold out. I printed the title onto Very Vanilla card, cut the words out and attached them to the left hand side of the page.

I stamped the large floral arrangements, large single flower and leaf images from the Cottage Rose stamp set onto Very Vanilla card using Basic Gray ink. I used small Blending Brushes to add Petal Pink and Pear Pizzazz ink to the images before using the co-ordinating Cottage Flowers Dies to cut them out. (Unfortunately the Cottage Rose stamp set and co-ordinating dies are retiring at the end of April.) I attached the large floral image to the lower left hand corner of the photo and the leaves and large flower to the upper right hand corner of the photo. I printed my journaling onto Very Vanilla card, attached it to Early Espresso card and attached it beneath the photo. I am pretty pleased with this page. Shows off the photo beautifully, don’t you think.

Seaside Thinking of You

April 28, 2023

Today’s card uses several different stamp sets to create the scenery. I embossed a piece of Balmy Blue card using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder before attaching it to scored and folded Thick Basic White card. I stamped the sand image from the Oceanfront stamp set across the bottom of Basic White card using Crumb Cake ink. I stamped the sea image from the same stamp set above the sand using Balmy Blue ink. I stamped the sky image from the Oceanfront stamp set above the sea using Balmy Blue ink which I stamped onto scrap paper first. I stamped the bird image from the Waves of Inspiration stamp set three times onto the sky using Early Espresso ink.

I stamped the pelican image onto Basic White card using Early Espresso ink. I used my Stamparatus to get a reverse image and cut it out by hand. I stamped the grass image from the Oceanfront stamp set three times onto Basic White card using Mossy Meadow ink. I cut out two full grass images and one partial grass image by hand. I layered the grass and pelican images onto the lower left hand corner of the stamped Basic White card. I stamped the “double rock” image from the Oceanfront stamp set onto Basic White card using Crumb Cake ink and cut it out by hand. I attached the image over the ends of the grass images using dimensionals. The Basic White panel is attached to the card front using dimensionals. I stamped the greeting from the Go To Greetings stamp set onto Basic White card using Balmy Blue ink.

I cut out the image using one of the Something Fancy Dies. I attached the greeting to the card front using dimensionals where necessary. To decorate the inside of the card I stamped the sand image from the Oceanfront stamp set onto the lower left hand corner of Basic White card using Crumb Cake ink. I stamped two different sets of grass from the Oceanfront stamp set onto the sand using Mossy Meadow ink. I stamped the “double rock” image onto scrap Basic White card using Crumb Cake ink. I cut out the image and attached it over the ends of the grass images.

I really love how this card turned out. I also love that you can combine the Oceanfront stamp set with other stamp sets to create different kinds of scenery. The really good part is everything I used, except the Stamparatus, is carrying over to the new Annual Catalogue.

Thanks so Much

Today I have a card to share with you that I made with the Tropical Leaf Bundle, which is an Online Exclusive product. I shared a few cards yesterday on my Facebook Live and this uses the same basic products. I attached a piece of Design A Daydream 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper to an Old Olive card base. I stamped the greeting from the Tropical Leaf stamp set onto the lower right hand corner of Basic White card using Soft Suede ink. I used the smaller leaf from the Tropical Leaf stamp set and Old Olive ink to stamp quite a few leaves.

I did stamp the image onto scrap paper first so that I would get a softer finish. I stamped the detailed leaf image over the top using Soft Suede ink which I stamped onto scrap paper first. I attached the image panel to Old Olive card and then to the card front. I stamped the same small leaf five times onto Basic White card using Old Olive ink and stamped the detailed image over the top using Soft Suede ink. I stamped the large leaf onto Basic White card, again stamping the detailed image over the top using Soft Suede ink. I used the Tropical Leaf Punch to cut out the large leaf and fussy cut the smaller leaves. I attached the leaves over the stamped leaves using dimensionals behind three of the leaves.

To decorate the inside of the card, I attached a piece Soft Suede card behind one long edge of a strip of the same Design A Daydream Designer Series Paper. The Designer Series Paper panel is attached across the bottom of Basic White card. I am so happy with the way this card turned out and just know that I am going to find lots of ways to use this Tropical Leaf Bundle in the future. I hope I have inspired you take a closer look at this bundle.

Candle Birthday

April 25, 2023

Today’s card is a case of this one on Pinterest by Jenny Maier. I embossed a panel of Crushed Curry card using the polka dot folder from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders which are an Online Exlusive item from Stampin’ Up!. I attached the embossed panel to Smoky Slate card and then scored and folded Rich Razzleberry card. I cut a circle from Basic White card using the largest circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I also used the die from the Sentiment Silhouette Dies to cut the circle before attaching it to the card front using dimensionals..

I die cut three solid candles from Basic White card using the Sentiment Silhouette Die and three candle flames from Crushed Curry using the same dies. I cut two detailed candles from Blackberry Bliss card and one from Rich Razzleberry card using the Sentiment Silhouette Dies.

I attached the detailed candles to a solid candle and then attached the candle flame. I used mini dimensionals to attach the candles to the die cut circle. I stamped the greeting from the Charming Sentiments stamp set onto Basic White card using Blackberry Bliss ink and cut it out using the co-ordinating Sentiment Silhoutte Die. The greeting is attached to the circle using dimensionals. To decorate the inside of the card, I stamped the greeting from the Charming Sentiment stamp set onto Basic White card using Blackberry Bliss ink. I love the finished result, so thanks to Jenny for the inspiration. What about you, do you like it too?

Sailing

April 24, 2023

Today’s card uses the On The Ocean stamp set. This is a fun set which has carried over to the next Annual Catalogue. The stamp set has co-ordinating On The Ocean Dies. I attached a piece of the By The Bay 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (retiring at the end of April) to a card base cut from Night of Navy card. I cut the central folding section from Night of Navy card and attached it over the centre of the Designer Series Paper panel.

To decorate the front of the card I stamped the ocean image from the On The Ocean stamp set onto the bottom of Basic White card using Coastal Cabana ink. I also stamped the cloud image from the same stamp set using the same ink which I stamped onto scrap card first. I stamped the bird image from the On The Ocean stamp set using Night of Navy ink. I stamped the ship image onto Basic White card using Soft Suede ink and again using Night of Navy ink. I cut out the whole ship stamped in Soft Suede ink using the co-ordinating On The Ocean Die. I cut the sails from the Night of Navy image and attached them over the Soft Suede image. The ship is then attached to the card front. Lastly I stamped the greeting from the On The Ocean stamp set onto the lower right hand corner of the stamped panel using Night of Navy ink.

The whole panel is attached to the front of the small Night of Navy folding card. To decorate the inside of the card, I stamped the greeting from the On The Ocean stamp set onto Basic White card using Night of Navy ink. I also stamped the sea image from the same stamp set onto the lower left hand corner using Night of Navy ink. I love how this card turned out and I love that I can use the Designer Series Paper from a different collection with this stamp set. I’d love to hear what you think.

In The City

April 22, 2023

I have had this photo of Sarah’s children for a long while and just love it. They had travelled into the city with their Dad to meet Sarah after work. I think the photo is taken in the Botanic Gardens. I attached a piece of the retired Heart & Home 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper to the upper left hand corner of a Basic White 12″ x 12″ page. I cut a piece of retired In Good Taste 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper into a banner and attached it the left hand side of the page. I attached another piece of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper across the centre of the page before attaching another banner cut from the same Designer Series Paper. I attached the photo to Basic White card and then another piece of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper before attaching it to the page. I printed my journaling onto Basic White card, fussy cut it and attached it below the photo. No journaling on this one just an approximate hand written date. I love how this page turned out, don’t you.

Carry over Product

April 21, 2023

Today I have some cards to share with you that I made using the Artistically Inked stamp set, the Artistic Dies and the 2022-2024 In-Colours. These products can all be found in the new Annual Catalogue. I cut one long edge of Basic White card using one of the Elegant Border Dies. These dies can be found in the Online Exclusive category in my store. I stamped the large flower and the flower centre from the Artistically Inked stamp set onto Basic White card using Sweet Sorbet ink.

I stamped two of the smaller flowers from the Artistically Inked stamp set onto Basic White card making sure to stamp onto scrap paper first. I also stamped two sets of leaves from the Artistically Inked stamp set onto Basic White card using Parakeet Party ink.

I cut all of these images out using the co-ordinating Artistic Dies. I added the flower centre to the large flower using mini dimensionals before layering the flowers and leaves onto the Basic White card. I stamped the greeting from the Artistically Inked stamp set beside the flowers using Sweet Sorbet ink. I attached the Basic White card to Sweet Sorbet card and then scored and folded Thick Basic White card. I tied a bow in the Sweet Sorbet Metallic Woven Ribbon and attached onto the card front. To decorate the inside of the card, I stamped the flowers and leaves onto the lower left hand corner of Basic White card using Sweet Sorbet and Parakeet Party ink. Because I wanted to show all of the 2022-2024 In-Colours, I made a card using each of the other four colours – Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Starry Sky and Orchid Oasis.

I am glad we have another year to play with these colours and products, aren’t you? I’d love to hear what you think of my cards.

Bye for now,

Kris
