Baby Scrapbook Pages
Well, as you all know I am not a fantastic scrapbooker. I love it but I am always a little disappointed with my pages. Anyway, I have tried to do a 1st Year Scrapbook for all of my grandchildren, however, I am running a tad late. Last week I managed to do the first page for my granddaughters (Elyssa and Jae) 6 x 6″ albums. Now Elyssa will be 2 in March and Jae turned 1 last October, so I am just a bit behind.
This is the first one I completed and I am not sure if it is just too pink (can you have such a thing), although I do like it. I used my Texturz plate Perfect Details on the Pixi Pink base card and then I distressed the edges (using my distressing tool in the Cutters Kit). This was then wrapped with Whisper White Tafetta ribbon. I layered my photo (the quality of which leaves a lot to be desired) onto Whisper White, then Pixi Pink and Whisper White card. The bottom two layers have had one edge punched using the Eyelet Edge Punch. I used the Texturz plate on some Whisper White card and punched out hearts using the Heart to Heart punch. The hearts were sponged with Pixi Pink ink to make the embossing stand out and attached to the right hand side of the page using dimensionals. I printed her name and birth date onto a scrap of Whisper White card setting the printer so that the colour matched Pixi Pink ink. The greeting is punched out using the Small Oval Punch and layered onto Pixi Pink card (punched out with the Large Oval Punch) and Whisper White (punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch). This piece was also attached to the page using dimensionals.
Although I didn’t plan this, I think this page will also fit this week’s Late Night Stampers Challenge.
This is my second page. I started with Pale Plum card and stamped the heart image from the Sprinkles stampset all over using Versamark ink and then sponged the edges with Pale Plum ink. I used the Eyelet Edge punch to decorate one side of a piece of Perfect Plum card and wrapped it with Pink Pirouette Striped Grosgrain ribbon and tied a knot. I ran the Whisper White Card through my printer to write the name and birth date (matching the colour to Perfect Plum). I used my corner rounder on the bottom right corner. The photo (forgive the quality) has had the bottom right corner rounded as well and is attached to the page using dimensionals. I punched three flowers from Pink Pirouette card using the Trio Flower punch. I inserted pink Rhinestone Brads and then attached to the page using mini glue dots. Simple but I am pretty happy with this one.
I hope my scrapbooking is going to improve. I am starting a class tonight run by my downline (and daughter) Sarah. Its a “scrap your year” class and will continue monthly until we have completed the twelve months, so hopefully I will learn a thing or two.
I will post the rest of the albums as I get them done – but possibly it may take a while.
Bye for now, Kris.
