A Bug Birthday

July 16, 2011

My friend Gwen has very cleverly designed a double fancy fold card and of course I had to try one out.

My card base is Basic Grey which I have cut according to Gwen’s dimensions.  I stamped the “ants” from the  Bugs and Kisses stampset onto Very Vanilla card using Basic Grey ink added  a mat of Ridinghood Red card and attached it to the bottom of the front of the card.  I stamped the “dragonfly” image onto Very Vanilla card using Basic Grey ink and used my Tempting Turquoise pastel to colour in the wings.  Both these pieces are matted with Tempting Turquoise card and are attached to card.  I stamped the greeting using Ridinghood Red ink onto Very Vanilla card and then stamped the worm image twice using Basic Grey ink.  The image is attached to Daffodil Yellow card and then attached to the central panel.  For the two narrow panels on both edges of the card, I cut a piece of Ridinghood Red card and punched one edge with the Scallop Edge Border Punch and then attached a narrow strip of Very Vanilla card.   The whole piece was then embossed using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder

Here is a close up to show the embossed panels and the coloured wings.  These cards are such fun to make so why not pop over to Gwen’s blog and check out the instructions.  I’d love to see what you make.

Bye for now, Kris.
