Birthday Packaging

October 29, 2011

Well today is my granddaughter Jae’s third birthday.  She is very excited about turning three.  I already shared with you the card that I made for her but thought you might like to see the packaging for her gift.

I bought my White gift bag at Spotlight (if you live outside Australia think Michaels).  I stamped the animals onto scrap Whisper White card stock using Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Early Expresso ink and cut them out.  I attached them to a piece of Whisper White card making sure that my monkey was “hanging” from the top.  I stamped “happy birthday dear you” from the Happiest Birthday Wishes stampset onto the Whisper White card using Early Expresso Ink.  I attached the image panel to a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock and set it aside.  I punched one long edge of a piece of Whisper White card stock using the Eyelet Edge Punch and then embossed this piece across its width using the Stripes Embossing Folder.  I wrapped the Whisper White embossed card stock with Pumpkin Pie 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon and then attached the whole piece to a mat of Early Expresso card stock, which was then attached to the front of my store bought bag.  I attached the image panel using dimensionals and also tied a bow using the Pumpkin Pie 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon and attached it to the bag front using Mini Glue Dots.

I don’t routinely decorate the inside of my card – I leave that until I am ready to give the card to someone.  For this card I used my computer to generate my greeting onto Whisper White card.  I embossed a strip of Whisper White card using the Stripes Embossing Folder.  I cut out another monkey which was stamped onto scrap Whisper White card using Early Expresso ink.  I “hung” the monkey from the Whisper White embossed card, attached it to a piece of Early Expresso card stock and then attached it to a piece of Daffodil Delight Designer Series Paper from the Brights Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack.  This piece was then attached to the bottom of the Whisper White panel with my greeting and added to the inside of the card.

You can see that it doesn’t take much to personalise the inside of your greeting card.  I’m sure she will love this cute little monkey.

I am looking forward to spending some fun time with her tomorrow to celebrate this milestone in her young life.

Bye for now, Kris.
