Sunny Challenge 60

September 23, 2012

The Sunny Challenge this week has been set by Gwen.  She has provided us with a great sketch and added that we must use embossing.  Well, I ask you, how easy is that, who makes a card these days without some embossing on it?  I think my folders are nearly all worn out from over use!

I kept my card simple in keeping with the sketch.  I embossed Very Vanilla card using the Petals-A-Plenty Embossing Folder.  I also embossed Early Expresso Core’dinations card using the Petals-A-Plenty Embossing Folder and sanded it using the new Stampin’ Sanding System and wiped off the dust using the Core’dinations Dust Buddy.  I love the effect you get when you do this.  It kind of gives it a vintage feel.  I attached the Early Expresso Core’dinations card to the Very Vanilla embossed card and wrapped it with Cherry Cobbler 1/2″ Seam Binding.  The piece was then attached to scored and folded Garden Green card.    I stamped the greeting from the Perfect Punches stamp set onto Very Vanilla card using Cherry Cobbler ink and punched the central part of the image using the 1-3/8″ Circle Punch.  I used dimensionals to attach it to a Garden Green 1-3/4″ Scallop Circle before attaching it to the card front again using dimensionals.
I love the simplicity of this card, what do you think?

If you need more inspiration then take a visit to Gwen and Vicky’s blogs and once your have created your card, scrap page or 3d item, pop over to Sunny Challenges and Creations and add it to Mr. Linky.  As always I look forward to seeing your creations.

Bye for now, Kris.

I love the look of sanded embossing. Have to get some of that card stock!
And your color combo is a winner.
