022Yesterday I held my first fundraiser which was very exciting for me.   Mates4Mates was my charity of choice, mostly because I have a connection through my nephew in-law, Dan Keighran, who is affiliated with this site.  Mates4Mates provides help and rehabilitation for Australian returned service personnel.  023Everyone who attended paid $10.00 of which I donated $5.00.  The ladies who attend made four cards, two of two designs, one of which they would keep and one they would donate.  Most of these lovely ladies donated both the cards they made and several donated more than once.  I was able to raise $120.00 for Mates4Mates and I have 65 cards which will go in the post next week.  026Hopefully the cards will help these veterans keep in touch with their family and friends and the donated money will be put to good use by Mates4Mates.

I am so grateful to all of the lovely ladies who attended and their unselfish donations for this wonderful charity.  My apologies to the ladies who attended early in the day as I didn’t take photos but these are a few to show you what wonderful people they all are.  027My thanks to everyone who attended early and alerted my to a few missing items in my card boxes and a special thanks to Rachel who I enlisted to cut some extra flowers I was missing from one of the boxes.

I can’t thank my friends and customers who supported me today enough.  You are all special and I am sure that your love will find it’s way to help someone in need.

Bye for now,

Congrats on your first fund raiser. The more you have, the easier it gets. Joyce
