Freshly Made Sketch 280
When I saw the sketch at Freshly Made this week, I knew that I would literally re-create the sketch. I haven’t used my Bold Butterflies Framelits Dies or the matching Butterflies Thinlit Dies in such a long time. I am always hesitant to make a one layer card, it seems to me that it isn’t quite finished enough but I was determined to make this one work.
I used three images from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to stamp across scored and folded Thick A4 Whisper White card. The smallest image is stamped using Pink Pirouette ink, the next image is stamped using Soft Sky ink and the last image is stamped using Smoky Slate ink. I inked part of one of the stamps from the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set to add the greeting to the card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I cut one large solid butterfly from Smoky Slate card using the Bold Butterfly Framelit and one small solid butterfly from Smoky Slate card using the Butterflies Thinlit Die. I cut the small detailed butterfly from Pink Pirouette card using the Bold Butterfly Framelit Die and the large detailed butterfly from Soft Sky card using the Butterflies Thinlits Die. I added some dimension to the wings of all four butterflies using my bone folder before attaching the detailed butterfly to the top of the matching solid butterfly using Glue Dots. I attached each of the butterflies ot the card front also using Glue Dots. To finish off I added large Basic Pearls to the centre of each of the butterflies.
To decorate the inside of the card I stamped each of the Gorgeous Grunge images once using each of the three inks used on the front of the card.
I am really happy with this card. I managed to keep it to a single layer and still add some dimension by using the Gorgeous Grunge stamps. I must say that this was the third attempt at this card, each of the other colour combinations just didn’t quite come together the way this one does and, no they are not shareable (is that a word!).
I’d really love to hear what you think.
Bye for now,
