Back to Front Fancy Fold

February 6, 2020

I have made a similar style of card as this one without the opening in the front of the card.  I love the fact that you are actually putting two cards together to create one.  I followed the instructions which I purchased from Elizabeth Shannon to create this Back to Front Aperture card.  I began by attaching Cherry Cobbler to scored and folded Basic Black card with re-positional glue.  I used the Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut through both layers of the card front.  I removed the Cherry Cobbler card and embossed it using the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder.  I re-attached the embossed card to the card front. I cut Basic Black card using the same Stitched Rectangle Die along with another of the dies two sizes larger to create the frame which I attached to the card front.  I stamped the floral image from the Forever Blossoms stamp set onto Whisper White card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured the image using Petal Pink and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends before cutting out the image using the Cherry Blossoms Dies.  I stamped the single flower from the Forever Blossoms stamp set onto Whisper White card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I covered the flower with a post-it-note mask and stamped the flower again. I masked the second flower and stamped the double leaf from the Forever Blossoms stamp set twice using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured the images using Petal Pink and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut them.  I created a slightly smaller card from Whisper White card to fit inside the Basic Black card.  I stamped the greeting from the Parisian Beauty stamp set onto the inside of the Whisper White card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I stamped the Eiffel Tower image onto the front of the Whisper White card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink before attaching the panel to the inside of the Basic Black card.  You will note that the Whisper white card is attached with the folded edge to the right. I stamped the single flower onto scrap Whisper White card three times using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I stamped one image, masked it before stamping the second image, masked the second image and stamped a third time.  I left the masks in place to stamp the double leaf image three times.  I removed the masks, coloured the images using Petal Pink and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut the images.

To finish decorating the card, I attached the large spray of flowers to the left hand side of the cut out on the card front.  I attached the double flower image to the lower right hand corner of the card front and the three flower image to the lower right hand side of the Eiffel Tower image.  Last, but not least, I added Basic Pearls to the centre of all of the flowers.

This is a wonderful fancy fold to allow yourself to be super creative.  I would truly love to hear what you think.

Bye for now,

Kris
