Double Flap Birthday

A few months ago I downloaded a free PDF from Lynn Dunn to create a Double Flap Fun Fold. I have never used the instructions until now. You can find Lynn’s blog post here. I don’t know why I waited so long to create this fun fold because it is simply amazing. I decided to use the Two Tone Flora Products to create my card today. I cut the card base and two folding flaps from Thick Basic White card. I attached the narrow folding flap to the card base. I attached a piece of Fancy Flora 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper to a piece of Orchid Oasis card and attached it to the card base, partially covering the narrow folding flap. I attached the large folding flap to the right hand side of the card base so that it covers the edge of the Designer Series Paper panel.

To decorate the front of the card, I embossed a piece of Basic White card using one of the folders from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders. I attached the embossed Basic White card to Orchid Oasis card and then the front of the large folding flap. I cut Basic White card using the largest circle from the Layering Circle Dies and stamped the greeting from the Peaceful Moments stamp set using Orchid Oasis ink. The circle is attached to an Orchid Oasis scalloped circle cut using the same dies. The greeting panel is attached to the card front. I stamped the solid flower from the Two-Tone Flora stamp set twice onto Basic White card using Daffodil Delight ink. I stamped the detailed flower from the same stamp set over the top using Calypso Coral ink. I stamped the leaf image from the Two-Tone Flora stamp set twice onto Basic White card using Evening Evergreen ink. The images are cut out using the co-ordinating Two-Tone Flora Dies before being layered onto the stamped circle. I attached a piece of Basic White card to Orchid Oasis card and attached it to the inside of the large folding flap.

I cut two more circle from Basic White card using the largest circle from the Layering Circle Dies. I stamped the greeting from the Peaceful Moments stamp set using Orchid Oasis ink. I stamped two flowers and some leaves from the Two-Tone Flora stamp set using Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Evening Evergreen ink. The images are cut out using the co-ordinating Two-Tone Flora Dies and layered onto the stamped circle. The stamped circle is attached to an Orchid Oasis scalloped circle before attaching the whole panel to the end of the narrow folding flap so that the images are centred onto the inside of the large folding flap. I stamped and cut various flower and leaf images from the Two-Tone Flora stamp set using the same inks as before. I layered the flowers and leaves onto the second Basic White circle before attaching it to the back of the Orchid Oasis scalloped circle. Finally I added some of the smaller flowers and leaves to the lower left hand corner of the inside of the large folding flap. Wow, isn’t this an amazing fancy fold! I can’t wait to make one using different stamp sets to get a totally different look.
Bye for now,
Kris
