A Small Valentine
I thought I would make something for my grandchildren as a little “love you” token for Valentine’s Day tomorrow. There is also a challenge on Late Night Stampers this week to make something with “hearts”.

These little owls hide a Freddo Frog chocolate inside. I will explain how I made the holder a little later in this post. Using my Two Step Owl punch I cut the bodies from Chocolate Chip ink. The “belly” piece is punched from Pretty in Pink (for the girls) and Bashful Blue (for the boys). I punched the large eye piece from Crumb Cake and layered Whisper White and Basic Black on top. I punched hearts from Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue (for the boys) and Pretty in Pink (for the girls) card. I punched the leaves using the Two Step Bird punch from Wild Wasabi card. After assembling all the pieces onto my Very Vanilla card, I stamped “love you” from the Short and Sweet stampset using Chocolate Chip ink. I added a mat of – you guessed it – Bashful Blue card (for the boys) and Pretty in Pink card (for the girls).

My holder is Chocolate Chip card, 7cm x 27.5cm. On the 27.5cm side I have scored at 9cm, 18cm and 18.5cm. On one end I have punched out a Word Window – approximately 2cm from the end and centred in the 7cm width. Once you have done that you add adhesive in the 2cm section and adhere it inside to create a little pocket where you slide the Freddo Frog through the little window.
These are so easy to make and you can vary the size to suit any small chocolate treat.
I think the grandchildren will like them and its a nice way to tell them I love them.
Bye for now, Kris.

Great valentine cards for kids. May have to CASE this.
