Happy Birthday Elyssa

March 6, 2011

Today is my granddaughter’s 3rd birthday.  As the youngest in her family, she has a firm grasp on the birthday concept.  She can’t wait for the presents, the party and the cake.  I think she may be disappointed about the party but I am sure she will get enough presents and cake.

I decided to make a gate fold card and use Forest Friends.  I started with Whisper White card and added a strip of Chocolate Chip which has been embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder to each of the fronts.  I inked up the tree from the Forest and Friends stampset using my Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write  markers and stamped onto Whisper White card.  I stamped the deer image using Chocolate Chip ink onto Whisper White card and cut it out.  I also stamped the rabbit using Chocolate Chip ink which I stamped onto scrap paper once then onto Whisper White card and cut it out.  I added the deer flat to the image using snail but popped the rabbit up on dimensionals.   The greeting is from the Occasional Quotes stampset (Level 3 Hostess set) and has been stamped using Chocolate Chip ink onto Whisper White card.  I punched the greeting out using the Word Window punch and added an Always Artichoke Modern Label before attaching it to the image panel.  I distressed the edges of the Whisper White card and then added a layer of Tangerine Tango.  With a gate fold you have to remember to only attach it to the left hand side of the card.

I hope she likes it.

Bye for now, Kris.
