Black and White

I have been busy with visitors and babysitting this past week and haven’t had much time to make any cards.  I checked out the challenges at Stamping 411 and Just Add Ink and decided to combine the two.  So this card is made using the sketch at Stamping 411 and the colour challenge at Just Add Ink.

My base card is Whisper White and I added a layer of Basic Black.  I cut two sets of leaves from Basic Black card using the Little Leaves Sizzlet and attached them to a layer of Whisper White.  I punched four 1 3/4″ scallop circles from Whisper White and used my bone folder to separate the layers.  I sponged the edges of each separated piece lightly with Basic Black ink before assembling my flower.  I cut a length of Basic Black 5/8″ Satin Ribbon and pulled a thread to gather the ribbon.  I attached one end to the back of a Basic Black 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle and the other end behind the Whisper White card.  I attached my Whisper White flower over the Basic Black scallop circle using mini glue dots.  The whole piece was then attached to the card front. 

I can’t say that I am overly excited by this card, I think it needs something.  Maybe I should just start again.  What do you think?
