Wedding Invitations

June 27, 2011

My niece is getting married later in the year and I have been very busy making the invitations.  I’m finally able to share them with you as they have all been posted.

This is the invitation closed.  The cardstock is Soft Suede and Whisper White with a little Certainly Celery as well.  All of the Whisper White panels have been embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper  Embossing Folder.  Because the invitations are 8″ x 4″ (closed) I had to emboss each piece twice.

You can see the Certainly Celery more easily in this photo.  The “groom” heart has 3 layers, firstly Soft Suede cut using the Scalloped Heart of Hearts embosslit, then a Full Heart Extra large punched from Certainly Celery and lastly a Full Heart Extra Large punched from Soft Suede.  The last heart has a little slit and turn backs to represent lapels.  The ties are made with .4mm strips of Soft Suede wrapped with a small Clear Rhinestone Brad, attached with a mini glue dot.  The “bride” heart has 2 layers – the first is Certainly Celery card cut with the  Scalloped Heart of Heart Embosslit, then Whisper White punched with the Full Heart Extra Large punch and embossed using the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder.  I lined the heart in the embossing folder to ensure that I had to two circles centred on the heart to add the small and medium Basic Rhinestones.

The invitation details were printed onto Vellum Cardstock and attached to a piece of Whisper White card which I embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder with Silver Brads.  The Whisper White card was attached inside using Sticky Strip.

The Wishing Well verse was printed onto Whisper White card and I made little tags out of them by attaching a Certainly Celery hert punched using the largest heart on the Heart to Heart Extra Large punch.  This heart was also embossed using the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder and attached to the tag using a Silver Brad.

I have covered the  wording on the invitation and wishing well because I believe that is something that only the guests should see.

I enjoyed making these and love the way they turned out.

Bye for now, Kris.

Wow, Kris – your attention to detail is incredible! No wonder your niece and her fiance were thrilled. These are so wonderfully thought out and constructed; they are very blessed to have such a talented aunty as you!
