Sunny Challenges

July 31, 2011

Well today marks the day of something new and exciting.  Vicky, Gwen and I have started a new challenge blog – Sunny Challenges & Creations.  Each week one of us will provide a sketch and select a current Stampin’ Up! stampset.   To complete the challenge you will have to use the selected stampset as well as the sketch.  On occasions, the stamp sets will be replaced by other products, eg embossing folder, technique, ribbon, button, shapes, 3-D Project, etc.  We are hoping this will be lots of fun and are really  looking forward to seeing all your gorgeous creations.

Challenges & samples will be posted each Sunday.

Don’t panic, if you have never played along with a challenge – it’s as easy as 1 2 3!  Just follow the steps below.

Rules –

  1. Create your card using the stated Stampin’ Up! stamp set.
  2. Post it online somewhere, eg, your blog or another online group/forum, eg Splitcoast Stampers.
  3. Please remember to link back to the site hosting the challenge.
  4. Go to Sunny Challenges & Creations.
  5. Post to Mr Linky – please ensure you link to your post & not just your blog.
  6. Please be aware, we reserve the right to remove any links with non-Stampin’ Up Products, links to online stores, etc.  We just want to have fun!
  7. Most importantly, have fun & leave comments for each other, as we know everyone loves a comment!
  8. Return the following week to find out who has been selected as the most liked using the current challenge

Ok so now to the fun part, this week you need to create a card using this sketch and also the Inspired by Nature stampset.

Any here is my card.

My basecard is Very Vanilla scored and folded to make 5 1/2″ square card.  I added a layer of Early Expresso and then a layer of Very Vanilla card which I embossed on the top, bottom and right hand side using the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder.  I stamped the “reed” image from the Inspired by Nature stampset using Soft Suede ink (stamped off twice on scrap paper) onto Very Vanilla card.  I stamped the flower image from the Inspired by Nature stampset over the top using Early Expresso ink.  I sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink and added a Soft Suede mat.  I attached the image panel to the card front using dimensionals.

Ok so now it is over to you.  We are really looking forward to seeing all your gorgous creations and don’t forget that we will be selecting our favourite card or cards for the week, so check back at Sunny Challenges and Creations  and see if your card was the lucky one.

Bye for now, Kris.
