Father’s Day

August 26, 2011

I really like the sketch at Stamping 411 this week and decided to use it to make a Father’s Day card.

I started with a base card of Basic Black and added a layer of More Mustard, topped by a layer of Whisper White which is embossed using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  I stamped the Medallion background stamp onto Whisper White card using More Mustard ink and attached it to a layer of Basic Black card.  I punched one long edge on a narrow strip of More Mustard card using the Scallop Border Punch and attached it over the stamped image.  I printed “Happy Father’s Day” onto Whisper White card (don’t have a Father’s Day stamp so I used my computer) and punched it out using the Decorative Label Punch.  I punched another Decorative Label from Basic Black card and cut it in half.  I attached one half behind the top of the greeting and one half behind the bottom of the greeting.  I attached the image panel to the card using dimensionals and then attached the greeting using dimensionals also.

I really like the way this card turned out.  I love the Medallion background stamp and don’t use it nearly often enough.  I’d love to hear what you think.

Bye for now, Kris.
