My Whiteboard

October 4, 2012

I have already told you that I love Pinterest and can waste, er spend, many hours there looking at all the beautiful pins.  One of the times I was looking I saw a great idea to use a photo frame as a whiteboard.  Now I don’t know about you but I have reached the age when I need a shopping list.  I set off to the supermarket to get a few items and when I get there I have completely forgotten what I wanted, so I buy other things I probably don’t need and arrive home and immediately remember what it was I wanted.  So I decided to make a whiteboard from a photoframe to hang inside my pantry.  I can duly note down what I need  when I run out and transfer the items to a shopping list before setting out.

I bought my frame at one of our local discount stores (Sam’s I think) for $10.00.  Its a good size as it holds a full sheet of A4, with plenty of room for me to keep my shopping list.

I decorated a sheet of Very Vanilla A4 card using Crumb Cake ink.  Firstly I inked up the “E” sized clear block and stamped that a few times, then I inked up the En Francaise Background stamp using the same ink, again stamping several times.  Lastly I used the swirly image from the Everything Eleanor stamp set.

I stamped the flower images from the Everything Eleanor stamp set onto Very Vanilla card  using Ridinghood Red, Cherry Cobbler and Bravo Burgundy ink and cut them out.  I used the Blossom  Petals Builder punch to make the leaves, cutting them from Garden Green card.  I inked up one of the leaves from the French Foliage stamp set using Garden Green ink and added the punched leaves, this gives the punched cardstock the look of a real leaf.

I hung it inside my pantry door using those new “velcro” photo hangers and added a little cord holder for my whiteboard marker.   Shopping should be much better now.

I’d love to hear what you think of this idea.

Bye for now, Kris.

Kris, what is A4?  Is that the whiteboard you can write on?  If so, where do you find it?  That is pretty enough it should not be hidden inside a closet!

    Thanks, Joyce

Hi Joyce, thanks for your lovely comment. A4 is the size of our card stock in Australia. About 11 1/4″ x 8 1/4″. I found the frame at a local discount store, perhaps like your Michaels. I just took out everything that came with the frame and replaced it with a sheet of Very Vanilla card stock.
