A Christmas Star

November 11, 2014

I thought I would share another project that we are going to be making at Beachmere tomorrow.  This star is made from the Kraft card stock in the Stampin’ Up! annual catalogue.  It is a great medium to use for making boxes because it is of a heavier weight than our other card.

I used the largest of the Stars Framelit Dies to cut two stars from the Kraft card stock.  The strips to join the stars together as a box were also cut from Kraft card.   You need to calculate the width of your box, add a strip each side to use to adhere to the box and add Sticky Strip.   I cut another star from Real Red card and embossed it using the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder and attached it to the front of the box.  I punched Silver Glimmer Paper using the Tree Punch and cut the word “Joy” from Gold Glimmer Paper using the framelit from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies.  I love how cute this ornament turned out and I know that the ladies are going to love it when they make it tomorrow.   You could punch a couple of holes in the joining strip before you assemble the box to add some ribbon to hang this from the tree.   I am going to use mine as a standing ornament in my dining room this Christmas.

Confused about exactly how to go about this, well, Stampin’ Up! has this fantastic video which should answer all your questions.

I would love to hear what you think.

Bye for now,
